How long does a person have to leave their hair braided before it starts to dread?

it depends on your hair type and texture. And of cousre how strong it can uphold the braids. But the maximum time for individuals is 3 months, Cornrows with hair added up to 6 weeks and weaves up to 2 months. now when you hear tat a person has had it in longer. it isbecause they had a ';touch up';. Rebraiding or redoing what is lose or old looking. This is what maintains the styles and keeps you hair up without damaging it. If it didn not get a touch up. thats wher you would get dreads. It the mean while of touch up. Keep your styles up with the necessary haicar treatment for that particular style.
