Does braiding wet hair help with poofiness?

I have extremely poofy hair and if i let it air dry after each shower it gets really poofy.

I was wondering if braiding wet hair help with the poofiness, and what kind of shampoo or conditioner will help with it too, I heard that John Frieda is a good shampoo brand but which line? the straight, or curly? line? Thanks for your helpDoes braiding wet hair help with poofiness?
NEVER braid your hair while wet. Hair swells with water so it shrinks as it dries, putting stress of the hair and causing it to break, along with damaging the follicles if you do this long term. John Frieda is drugstore crap, and it is just going to make your hair poofy, like all drugstore crap. They chemicals are really harsh, which causes that poof. Shampoo cleans hair, that is all that it can do, so everything that it tells you it does besides cleaning is a marketing scam, don't fall for it. Use a shampoo like Fashonista by Catwalk. It is for color so it is very gentle, then use a Matrix conditioner, wash it out in cold water. You can also use a smoothing cream to help cut down on the poofieness, as some is caused by the product but some is natural.Does braiding wet hair help with poofiness?
Braiding wet hair then letting it air dry will help some, but then you'll end up with braid indentations in your hair. If that doesn't bother you then go for it. And John Freida shampoo/conditioners are all really good, but that alone won't tame your poofiness. You should use some frizz taming serum (JF has a really good one) and so does Garnier. My hair gets frizzy if it air dries, so I do this: when my hair is towel-dried, I apply some hair serum OR spritz it with Garnier glossing spray, comb it through, and let it air dry. Just don't add too much or your hair will be greasy.
