When did you start braiding/tying ribbons round your baby girl's hair?

especially babies with afro hair? When did you start braiding/tying ribbons round your baby girl's hair?
I had to tie up my daughters hair in a little ponytail on the top of her head from 5 months. She just had so much of it, lol.

If you can, and need to, it's not a bad idea to get them used to it early, if you wait too long you're going to have a big struggle on your hands! When did you start braiding/tying ribbons round your baby girl's hair?
If you want to try braiding your babies hair in cornrows or small plaits then i would recommend you wait until she is a year old and remember not to pull her hair too tightly.

You can tie her hair into bunches anytime her hair is long enough to be gathered up, but yet again be careful not to pull her hair too tightly.

You can also buy special headbands to go around your babies head which look adorable if she doesn't yet have enough hair to be tied up.

p.s - don't forget to use appropriate Afro/Caribbean hair products in her hair (eg beautiful beginnings).
I did it whenever their hair got long and thick enough. For example, my 5 year old has very thin hair, so what I do with hers is limited. Where on the other hand, my 3 year old daughter has long, thick hair, so I can do more with hers. It just depends on texture and length.
if its long enough to do so then go ahead but not too tightly as her little head will hurt, really adorable though....x
i started doing my daughters hair as soon as it was long enough it doesnt hurt them or anything..as long as your careful!
Once their hair is long enough.
Never. I tried and their hair was just too fine to hold ribbons or bows.

Re. the one who said you should keep it short... BULL. That does NOT make her hair stronger.
you should keeop your baby's hair short untill pre school... it makes it thicker and stronger throughout her life.
about 9 months i started to

xx
i was a baldy so my mom used corn syrup to stick a bow to my head (people liked to mistake me for a boy.) it stayed put and wasn't a choking hazard. don't use barrettes; those are choking hazard and if she gets ahold of that it's going straight in her mouth. just make sure whatever you do is secure and make sure that if you loose a ribbon or band that you find it and don't put her to bed with them in. i bet she looks good sporting a fro. ;o)
If only lol my daughter has bushy, curly hair that gets in her eyes but she won't let me touch it.When i put hair bobbles in she pulls them straight out and when i try to put them back in she throws a super tantrum.

If you can manage it, do it whenever your babies hairs long enough.
as long as the child hair is long enough to grip ribbons and bows it doesnt matter just dont put them 2 tight i started doin my baby hair at 3 and a half months i just couldnt wait
As soon as her hair was long enough to be able to. I couldn't wait to out it up %26amp; make it pretty! =)
my girlfriends baby is 10 months old tomarrow and she is putting her hair up in pony tails
