I have heard that by braiding your hair, it can grow longer and faster than it would normally. Do you think that this is true? And if not, then what are some other ways that hair might grow longer faster? Is it true that by braiding your hair, your hair will grow faster?
try hair oil; it really works! put it on at nite before bed and wake up and shampoo it off. usually coconut hair oil works the best but try others to suit ur hairIs it true that by braiding your hair, your hair will grow faster?
Nope, it's just a myth.
Braiding your hair is considered a protective style, so you won't put any heat onto it.
But, the hair can also split while it's braid, since you're pulling hard on it.
Don't worry, my mom told me the sameee thing when I was younger, but my hair didn't go anywhere.=/
What you can do instead is go on a high protein diet. The hair is made out of keratin, a certain protein, and eating a lot of protein can help it to grow. You can also massage your hair with stimulating oils ; such as rosemary, lavendar, peppermint, etc. This is so the blood can go to your head, and help your hair to grow. Also, take hair, skin, and nail vitamins, just so you're not missing any ingredients that requires hair to grow.
Hope this helps! Message me if you want more tips, I'm also on a hair growth challenge as well.
No, but it keeps it neater, so in a different sense, it will help you. It is hard to grow overly tangly hair now isn't it?
Cocconut oil conditions your hair, mayo does too. If you have lots of protiens in your diet it should help make your hair strong, which helps it grow better sometimes.
Brush oils from your scalp in strokes to your ends keeps it conditioned and helps stimulate growth. Headstands sometimes help, but you don't HAVE to do those.
Get lots of sun, warm weather is great for hair to grow.
Alot of the things good for your hair should help your nails and bones, so consider these things.
it helps retain the length...if you keep it in braids for a month then take them out thst is whole month of growth

I have to disagree with meghann. I started braiding my hair at night before I went to bed and my hair did grow longer. I did nothing different. My ends were never even cut and in a couple of months my hair grew several inches! I don't know of any other ways except maybe your diet.
Braiding is healthier for your hair than pony tails are, and certain styles do make your hair grow faster. Most of these unfortunately look better for people with darker skin. I.E. cornrows, twists, micro braids.
that's not true. the only way you can help it MAYBE grow faster is if you eat really healthy with lots of protein... also check like vitaworld or gmc they sell hair nutrients as a pill/vitamin that can help
