Braiding my hair so I can do a braid out. Should I start at the back or front of my head?

My hair is about 4 inches long. It's nappy and I just washed it and put conditioner in so it is wet. Should I put oil in it? I have detangler, shea butter, and twisting gelBraiding my hair so I can do a braid out. Should I start at the back or front of my head?

Most people start with the front and work back. That way they can see the progress they are making.

That is funny you wrote that its nappy, when I say that people here in the u.s. get offended. I guess truth hurts them.

The conditioner detangles it, hopefully you combed out the tangles. The butter is to moisturize but the twisting gel is to hold. You could use the twisting gel on the ends to keep it together. Otherwise when that stuff is in your hair it dries and then it leaves a flakey coating.

You should know from past experience?
i know someone that got their hair braided (like the african type of braid) and they siad it will grow and they left it in and it is became knotty and they had to go backt o the place for them to professianlay unbraid their hair and it was not in very good condition but it did grow, so really its up to you

good luck!
